Professional communities need one place to meet, share content, follow events and stay notified — without the product feeling heavy.
A platform spanning communities, events, content and subscriptions, built on a Next.js frontend and NestJS + PostgreSQL backend.
- Built the frontend with Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind and Zustand, including the full onboarding flow
- Reddit-style comments with nested replies, voting, expand/collapse, real-time updates and pagination
- Real-time comments over WebSockets and push notifications for likes, comments, joins and invitations
- Post creation with a Tiptap rich-text editor and draft support
- Admin dashboard with insights, React Big Calendar scheduling and a Google Maps location picker
- Amazon S3 file uploads
- List virtualisation and infinite pagination to keep large feeds fast.
- Layered security: JWT auth, API rate limiting, reCAPTCHA, honeypots and CSP, plus AWS WAF, Shield and CloudFront with DevOps.
- Skeleton states, lazy loading and Zod validation; accessibility improved through Lighthouse audits.
Working across this breadth taught me how features interact — a notification, a comment and a subscription all touch the same system.
